About Us

The Yakima branch is located in central Washington's beautiful Yakima Valley in the heart of the Pacific Northwest. It is a center of agriculture nestled in the foothills of the majestic Cascade Mountain Range known worldwide as a source of high-quality fruits and farm crops, especially apples. In recent years, many award-winning Washington wines have earned the Yakima Valley increasing recognition as a premier wine-producing region.

In 1986, members of a Christian charismatic group in Yakima called the Community of Christ the King became a branch of the People of Praise. Since that time, men and women in Yakima have worked diligently and faithfully to life the community life of the People of Praise and to build the kingdom of God in central Washington.

Branch meetings take place in private homes, where we worship, sing, pray, learn and share our lives. We also host monthly Meetings in Public, where we pray, eat, share and try to introduce others to our life as People of Praise. At other times we might be found opening the Lord's Day together on Saturday night or gathering for recreational activity or celebration.

Currently our branch consists of eight adults and four children. We hear the Lord speaking to us loud and clear about growth. With all our brothers and sisters throughout the community, we are ready to take action and move ahead in building God's kingdom.
